Yeshivah Secondary

Yeshivah Secondary (Years 7 - 12) aims to further instil a robust educational foundation in each and every student, empowering them to confidently navigate society with pride in their Jewish identity and a clear sense of purpose.

We are dedicated to building the character and self-esteem of our students, fostering positive behaviours both within and beyond the classroom. Our teaching techniques are tailored to meet the needs of young men, ensuring they remain engaged and invested in their studies. Above all, we strive for each of our students to be a mensch – an honourable, caring, compassionate human being. Instilling values that will guide them not only through their academic journey but also throughout their adult lives..

Guiding young men to lead with Torah Values in a changing world.

YESHIVAH SECONDARY

Kindness across the grades

With personalised attention during class times and community atmosphere, Yeshivah College is a school where lifelong friendships are fostered and where a sense of camaraderie extends across year levels.

Students across year levels care and look out for each other, always seeking to lend a helping hand. Chessed (kindness) is also extended to the wider community, with students’ extensive involvement in volunteer programs and raising tzedakah (charity) being widely acknowledged and celebrated.

Committed to Jewish Learning

Our Jewish Studies program offers streamed studies tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of students across different year levels, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to thrive and reach their academic potential.

Subjects such as Gemara, Chassidus, and Halacha form the core of our curriculum. Through these subjects, students not only deepen their understanding of Jewish texts and practices but also develop invaluable skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. Our aim is to cultivate not only knowledgeable individuals but also thoughtful and engaged members of the Jewish community.

Academic Achievement

Yeshivah College consistently achieves strong results across a range of subjects including English, Humanities, Mathematics, Science, and Religious studies in VCE. This success underscores the significance of maintaining a balanced blend of General and Jewish Studies within our curriculum.

Shluchim

Yeshivah College annually host local and international Shluchim (emissaries) who infuse our campus with vibrancy and enthusiasm for Chassidishkeit. These dedicated volunteers offer invaluable guidance, mentorship, and a profound source of inspiration to our students.

Through engaging programs and events, they play an instrumental role in helping to foster a strong connection to Judaism, enriching the educational experience of our students.

Mesivtah

As an alternate study option, a Mesivtah program (intensive Jewish Studies stream) is available to students from Year 10 onward. Students graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex concepts and engage meaningfully in future Yeshivah studies.

Subjects on offer range from Chavrusah (partner learning), Girsa, Rashi Sichos, Lekutei Sichos, Tanya and more.

Honouring Tradition through Sport

Sports Day - The Khoen Cup

The Annual Khoen Cup Sports Day is a highlight on the Yeshivah calendar - with thanks to the ongoing generous sponsorship from Mr Menachem Khoen (going on 50 years!).

Students come together for a day of sporting events, with House Teams Ephraim, Reuven, Dan and Yehuda vying for the coveted Khoen Cup.

School VS Old Collegians - The Yitz Rosen A”H Cup

Old collegians and current Yeshivah Secondary students gather annually to compete in a spirited basketball game, held in memory of Yitz Rosen A”H. Beyond the thrill of competition, this event serves as a powerful bridge between past and present students.

The game not only showcases athleticism and sportsmanship but also fosters a sense of camaraderie and connection among alumni.
